Risk Assessment

A Risk Assessment is a systematic process of identifying potential hazards and taking steps to minimise risks to patients, staff, and others in the healthcare environment.

Radicalisation Awareness (PREVENT strategy)

The PREVENT strategy, also known as Radicalisation Awareness, aims to stop people from being drawn into terrorism and to recognise and report concerns.

Absolute risk

Absolute Risk refers to the likelihood of an event or outcome occurring among the group being studied. For example, an adverse reaction to the drug being tested. Studies that compare two or more groups of people may report results in terms of the absolute risk reduction.

CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)

An emergency procedure that combines chest compressions, often with artificial ventilation, in an effort to manually preserve intact brain function until further measures are taken to restore spontaneous blood circulation and breathing in a person who is in cardiac arrest.
